“For any writer who wants to keep a journal, be alive to everything, not just to what you’re feeling, but also to your pets, to flowers, to what you’re reading.” May Sarton

Consider tonight and tomorrow your Pre-Conference Workshop. You know how prior to a conference or event there is always a bit of action BEFORE the  start date? Well, I  am so antsy and excited that I wanted to offer you all the same. Consider this the Prequel. The Pre 21 Days of Journaling in June (JIJ) workshop, kick off, lead up, whatever you want to call this post is fine with me. Because I am antsy and excited…and apparently repeating myself. Did I mention I am excited?

OK. Anyway…

I am so excited to step right out into the unknown with you, friends, as we journal our journey together in June. I wanted to share a few things about the journey as well as what to expect here in the days ahead. So let’s get down to some of the details and if I leave anything out be sure to leave a question in the comments below and I will answer!

“The discipline of the writer is to learn to be still and listen to what his subject has to tell him”

Rachel Carson

Desperate Times Call for Desperate…

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

How would you finish the sentence?

Desperate times call for desperate…actions? Measures, people, phone calls? What would you answer?

I challenge you to consider this reality and ask yourself where your trust is.

Desperate times call for desperate prayer, first.

Take Courage

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

These past few weeks have been a blur. Some days I  am not sure whether it’s Monday or Thursday. The clock has lost significance and breathing at times feels laborious. As if breathing is one more thing on the list of things to do…yet, it is a constant reminder that there are some things I am grateful are not dependent on me. My life, my very breath is in hands that are more capable and faithful than mine.

This is a reassuring reality when circumstances spill you out on the highway like a misplaced deer.
