Renewal

sunita dverseprompt

Swirls of curls swim atop her head,

she is smooth curves

more than proper for her age

loved generously

yet longs to be

a waif

belonging to no one, nowhere

Heaven leaned to  kissed her forhead,

in the darkness

of indigo night

one lone tear drop fell from the sky,

she doesn’t see

the profusion of  stars,

she’s birthed.

Blinded,

beyond reason,

sees not her crimson  beauty,

nor visits the lavender laced mornings

reserved only for lovers of dawn.

Perhaps she has just forgotten,

and like Spring she will awaken

anew

and recall

her tender years

the return of joy will bloom

bringing forth sweetness and she will be

refreshed from her slumber…

Renewed.

We will see her smile again.

It is our greatest hope.

Linking with dVerse tonight for Poetics. Grace has shared the glorious (and bursting with color) work of artist Sunita Khedekar, who has graciously allowed us to use her artwork for our posts! I was drawn to this beautiful image. Oh, and I am late, I think…but better late than never! OK, now I am ready for bed…hope to catch up visits tomorrow!

  3. A beautiful girl looking so forlorn… a pity. Your springtime poetry opens wonderful possibilities for her.
