The Rescue

Credit
Pacing the borders
confined
boundary lines defined
by smells
he knows well
There is safety in familiarity
he inhales deep
smells freedom
longs to travel roads less traveled
breathe in the open air
yearns in solitude
for boundless path
and wild pack
dreams of wings…
or maybe
 just to be unshackled
yet,
there is security
 in chains
he lays
stretches long
on soft grass
slips away
contented
dreams
 of wooded places
wandering…
nose down
an endless journey.

there is a sadness beneath this a bit to me at least…there is security in chains…we must weigh that which we chain ourselves to…and there is something of running with the right pack too…smiles.

Firstly, I absolutely Love the sounds of the sea. I am so relaxed and thank you for that. Love your poem of a yearning for a change yet a safety of where one is at. Beautiful poem…
