Poems To My Mom

Mom walking the beach with her Bella girl!
I am linking up this week for the 1000 moms Project at A Holy Experience.
I will be writing a few posts (Honoring Him Through Honoring Mom)
about motherhood, my mom and my relationship,
and hopefully some new insight from God about Him and his purpose
with regard to being a mother, daughter and follower of Him.
But let me just start by saying this: I did not have a traditional upbringing nor a traditional mom, but what I did have was God’s perfect choice for me.
You have no idea how BIG of a statement that is for me to make!
My mom and I have been through many ups and downs.
Our relationship sometimes is challenged from within and without BUT
God is faithful and I believe that Honoring my mom is honoring Him. I have been on a journey to learn how for many years. Progress has been slow. But I am grateful for my mom, God and His ways.
This is a far cry from the angry teenager who ran away at 15 years old, my friends.
God is nothing if He is not a Miraculous God. And. He. Is.
Rejoicing in Him, with thanksgiving for my mom, today.
Please scroll down and see the two poems I wrote as a young girl.

Now you see where I get the ROCK gathering trait from! It’s genetic!

This is a picture of me about the time I wrote the two poems below.
I thought it would give you a giggle. I was such a dweeb.
Holding the Liberty Bell circa 1976.
Just recently my Mom returned these to me to save.

My Mom had a friend at work do the calligraphy and
then they hung framed on the wall for many years.

“Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.
Ephesians 6:2-3

Mothers are not perfect, however they are chosen, handpicked by God. How we respond or fail to regardless of our circumstances reveals much about our relationship, trust and belief about Him.
I will be sharing and exploring this more in the upcoming posts.
May you be a blessing and be blessed as you seek Him in all things!

This is one of a couple of posts
I will be writing this week in recognition of Mother’s Day!
