My Next Five To Read: Book Blogger Hop

As I waited (fortunately without holding my breath) for my daughter to join me for our reading time tonight (still waiting), I popped on by Ramona’s place: Create with Joy and was ecstatic to see this Book Blogger Hop (Hosted by Jen @ Crazy-For-Books:link below!) to participate in this weekend! The timing was perfect as I was just pondering how much I love my most recent reads and felt like sharing the love!

Well here is the way to jump in:
Answer the question below, write up a quick post, link-up and visit your fellow Book Bloggers!
What are the next five books in your TBR (to-be-read) pile? And, don’t worry, you can change your mind and read something different – we won’t check!

Book Blogger Hop
Whoohoo! Here is the slowest reader/reviewer’s
latest TBR list…

1. Grace of Giving by Marja Meijers:
Let me just say this…WOW! This sweet read has been on my nightstand ever so quietly waiting. I am amazed at the profound simplicity and depth that is so excellently put forth here. A rare gem-I picked it up and can hardly put it down. Halfway through and powerful.

2. Goodness Gracious Green by Judy Christie:
I am on the second in the Green Series and enjoying the Fiction escape as well as the escapades of Lois Barker as she embarks on the journey of a lifetime: inheriting a Newspaper in colorful, rural Green, Louisiana!

3. Heaven In Her Arms by Catherine Hickem
Why God Chose Mary to Raise His Son and What it Means for You

4. Bringing Up Girls by Dr. James Dobson

5. Praying For Your Prodigal Daughter
by Janet Thompson

Happy Reading!

As Real As It Gets

Real. Smooth stones along the water’s edge remind my feet of the reality that life is hard. But, beautiful.
I walk the edges of the ocean, sea mist touches my cheeks and I know I am real. Here now, present. Bringing every painful moment under His subjection. Brokenness is not a reason to hide. But to confide in the one who hears the wind that blows through my hair. Who numbers my hair and commands the breeze that blows. I know the word real to be rugged, tender, rough and smooth. I know the word real because it defines me so well. Not a beautiful smooth stone but in His eyes, yes. Beautiful. Broken, special. Real. I accept each stone as a gift. Reminders, each…of His constancy.

Linking up with Gypsy Mama for 5 Minute Friday. It’s easy…well sometimes. Sometimes I sit and stare at my screen and then time is up! But that’s OK… it helps keep it real !

Scripture Journal (RDJ Link-Up) 5/5/12

This journal I am sharing today is one that I started in the early days of my Christian walk, when the Word became alive to me. Although it is not my own words, it is filled with pages I love. I love to meditate on His Word and write and re-write Scripture. Some of the swirly word designs are so reflective of my mind in the sense that the Holy Spirit does call forth the Word and it swims through my mind, alive, active and powerful…useful. It also triggers songs that glorify God. This journal is so near and dear to my heart as I would sit and ponder as I wrote, read and contemplated. As you will see, 1 John was ministering strongly to me, as God did deep surgery on my newly converted heart. Actually God was using each of these verses to teach me…Hope you enjoy a peek into this “Scripture Journal”.
(The dates range @ 1997-1999)

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Jeremiah 31:33
